Method
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Coat a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray or baker’s release.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Evenly distribute the pudding mix on top of the cake mix.
- Add the chocolate chips – reserving a ½ cup of them for later.
- Pour the milk over the top of the dry mix.
- Stir gently until well combined. **see notes
- Sprinkle the top with the remaining ½ cup of the chocolate chips.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is set and the edges pull away from the baking pan.
- Remove from oven and place it on wire rack.
- Allow to cool slightly to serve warm with ice cream, or you can cool it completely before serving and add other toppings such as frosting or whipped cream.
- Store any leftovers covered with plastic wrap in the pan or in individual airtight containers.

Notes
You can also mix everything in a bowl and then add it to the prepared baking dish. This cake pairs wonderfully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
