Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 85 g unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 100 g dark brown sugar packed
  • 1 piece egg yolk egg white reserved for another use
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120 g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 53 g semisweet chocolate chips mix of chopped chocolate and chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and position the rack in the center. Line a light-metal cookie sheet with a silicone mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, and beat to combine.
  4. Sprinkle the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda over the butter mixture. Beat until combined.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped chocolate.
  6. Scoop out 10 balls of dough and space them evenly on the cookie sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven when edges start to brown. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
