Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 16 oz fresh strawberries
  • 10 oz chocolate chips or chopped chocolate semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil optional, for softer chocolate
Optional Toppings
  • 100 g chopped nuts
  • 100 g coconut
  • 100 g toffee bits
  • 100 g mini chocolate chips
  • 100 g crushed Oreos
  • 100 g sprinkles
  • 100 g melted white chocolate for drizzling

Equipment

  • Microwave
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Wash the strawberries and dry them individually with a paper towel. Let them air dry until completely dry.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside.
  3. Put the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each time, until melted and smooth.
  4. Hold the strawberry by the green leaves and dip into the chocolate, covering the berry almost to the top. Shake off excess chocolate.
  5. If using toppings, dip the berries in them now before the chocolate sets.
  6. To drizzle chocolate, use a fork to drizzle melted white chocolate or extra chocolate over the dipped strawberries.
  7. Let the strawberries sit at room temperature for about one hour until the chocolate firms.
